Women in Aviation (WAI) India Chapter celebrated International Women's Day alongwith the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Ms. M. Sathiyavathy, with an interactive discussion, 'Visibility for Women in Aviation.' This is the first time such an event has been held in India.

The subject elicited many thoughts and suggestions including extension of flying for pregnant pilots in line with international standards, to scholarship opportunities for the younger generation.

WAI President Ms. Radha Bhatia, Vice President Ms. Neelam Pratap Rudy, and Ms. Shubha Thakur Joint Director DGCA led the discussion that started with cake cutting. Giving a patient ear to the issues, the DGCA spoke of her own journey to success.
